Richard M. Matheson has been practicing law in Salt Lake City, Utah for over 20 years. He has prior work experience in the residential and commercial construction industry. His areas of practice focus include: real property law, construction law, lien foreclosure law, commercial and residential property management; HOA Management, real property and business buy/sell transactions, condemnation law; landlord/tenant law; business organization and counseling; and litigation.
Mr. Matheson’s extensive litigation experience includes successfully handling a wide range of business and commercial litigation matters in both state and federal court, overseeing every aspect of the process, from effective use of discovery devices through to trial.
Mr. Matheson was admitted to the State Bar of Utah and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City in 1989. He received a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Utah in 1985. Mr. Matheson also served as a Judicial Intern to Judge Regnal W. Graff on the Utah Court of Appeals in 1989. Mr. Matheson is an active member of his church and local communities. Currently, he is a member of the Architectural Review Board for Dorchester Point Homeowners Association.
